About Us and The Tubing Mill
The Tubing Mill was invented, designed, and built by a Welder / Fabricator / Machinist with 35 years of fabrication experience. The tool has been updated, redesigned, and perfected to make it the machine it is today. The Tubing Mill has been tested over the years in all the conditions encountered by today’s Welder / Fabricator. This pipe notcher / tube notcher was engineered to comfortably fit into any shop location, as well as being totally portable, or be utilized just about anywhere electrical tools are used.
Most Welders and Fabricators enjoy constructing pipe and round tubing structures except for all the preparation, layout, cutting, grinding, fitting, and then more grinding after the structure is welded together.
For instance a handrail on stairs can be a time consuming process and the resulting finished product may be less than satisfactory.
Considering ever increasing building codes and federal/state regulations, the process is only going to get more challenging. Keeping in mind also the ever growing aged population, the need for additional ramps and guard/handrail is going to be necessary.
The Tubing Mill is designed to meet all these challenges.
When you the Fabricator factor into your overhead the materials, fuel costs, wages and benefits you may be searching for alternatives and better processes. Perhaps one of those alternatives to control costs would be to simplify the joint making process.
The Tubing Mill as a pipe notcher and tube notcher makes perfect joints, even at large angles in a matter of seconds, not the sloppy joints which require several passes. You can make uniform tight joints and weld them with one small pass.
It has been my experience to fit and tack over one hundred pieces on inclined ramps and stairs in an 8 hour work day. With this machine I have been able to create pipe and tube notches on over 1,000 hand and guardrails jobs, the majority being on inclined ramps, and stairs. After a few minutes of preliminary set-up time you can cut precision joints and notches at a rate of two or three per minute without any problem. This is possible on straight pipe and tubing, square tubing and on materials which have been rolled for curved railings. The Tubing Mill, while making work with any kind of tubing easy, it will save materials that normally are wasted during construction. You will find working with round tubing perhaps as simple as working with square tubing.
With improved quality of the work and enormous labor savings the Tubing Mill will pay for itself in a relatively short period of time. An experienced operator can saw and cope joints at a rate that exceeds the placement and welding of members, by several welders.
The machine is purposefully designed to last for a very long period of time with tight tolerances and precision parts assembled the way machines were once made in America. When you see this machine you will know that it is well built. Constructed to be portable and practically maintenance free with surfaces either powder coated or chrome plated requiring not much more than a rag and oil can to keep it working for decades. The technology has been time tested under some of the most sever of working conditions, heat and cold, shop and field. You know time is money; you will like the Tubing Mill.
Units are available for purchase. Operator training is available at no additional cost in small group training sessions arranged when time allows. Individual training at cost can also be scheduled. The training will provide you with the necessary skills to get the optimum out of the Tubing Mill. If you have the basic fit-up and layout skills you will be able to learn to use this machine in just a few short hours and become highly proficient in a few days. The training will be easy and informative; the difficult part of fitting round joints is done by the machine.
After experiencing the Tubing Mill you will wonder and ask yourself how you did it before!
