Protexer Corporation, the parent company for BootieButler brands, was founded in 2004, as Asian Trading Corporation, by import-export specialist Rob Heller. At the time, Rob was working in China importing items for his US based businesses. While attending a trade show, he discovered a large variety of shoe-cover dispensers and recognized their potential in U.S. markets. Rob and his business partner, Jim Woods, researched the various models of shoe cover dispensers before selecting the best one to introduce to the U.S. market.
The original shoe cover dispenser had a basic design and was primarily used in the real estate, construction, and home delivery markets. Rob knew this product could be successful in other markets, with a wider range of covers and further innovation of the dispenser. Rob and Jim began procuring the most suitable shoe covers and developed more effective product designs for dispensers.
In 2005, Protexer, Inc. began doing business under the trade name BootieButler and went to market with the Original BootieButler dispenser and a line of shoe covers. Rob and Jim continued to develop the dispenser design as well as increase the functionality of the shoe covers. They recognized the need for a dispenser that had a large capacity, yet was still easy to load. From 2006 to 2007, BootieButler adopted the electronic Extreme Butler and, in 2009, the company brought the KineticButler models to market.
In 2009, Rob Heller and Jim forged a relationship with the University of Tennessee MBA program in order to teach future entrepreneurs about starting a business. Through this parternship, Rob and Jim met Greg Compton, BootieButler?s current COO and General Manager.
With Greg in charge of operations, BootieButler has realized significant growth and operating efficiencies. Moving forward, the company intends to move product manufacturing to North America in order to increase quality control, guard against currency fluctuations, decrease shipping costs, minimize lead time, and create jobs at home.
All these improvements are geared toward one broader goal? making our service to our customers better. BootieButler is operated under the philosophies of Rob Heller, a service-disabled veteran. It is Rob?s belief that customer service is the most important facet of any business, and that belief drives BootieButler to puts its customers? needs at the forefront of all its actions.
