The Picacho/Tucson NW KOA features spacious pull-thru sites, large shade trees, beautiful cactus and a crystal blue pool – heated in the winter! There is fun for the kids, too – a playground with swings, sandbox, cornhole, horseshoe, and board games in the Clubhouse. Nearby Picacho Peak can be hiked to the summit for an astounding desert panorama. At the base of the peak you will find home to a herd of ostriches, among other animals you can feed at Rooster Cogburn's Ostrich Ranch. In Coolidge to the north is the site where, a thousand years ago, the Desert People built a mysterious 4-story-tall “Great House” (Casa Grande Ruins). Bring your Nice camera for the gorgeous pink-to-orange sunrises over Picacho Mountain and blazing sunsets across the open horizon. With seasonal day temps in the 60s and 70s, do more this winter in the warm embrace of the Sonoran Southwest!
