Founded in 2001 by Philip Chemla, Philip Simon Development USA, Inc. (PSDI) is a fully integrated footwear company, providing design, manufacturing and distribution for the company's acquired labels. Currently, PSDI's three brands, Ed Hardy Shoes, Christian Audigier Shoes and Smet Shoes have become leading labels in men, women and children's footwear. PSDI is renowned for merging cutting edge fashions and high end materials.

During its first year, PSDI began producing private label shoes for TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and Ross. They then partnered with Hale Bob and Von Dutch for two years before launching the Ed Hardy Shoes label in 2005. Over the course of the next few years PSDI also obtained the licensing rights for Christian Audigier Shoes, Smet Shoes and Crystal Rock Shoes.

PSDI, located in Los Angeles, is the worldwide footwear licensee for all of the labels. The shoes are distributed in over 30 countries with continued growth and have been recognized for their continued exxecellence in design. Most recently, Ed Hardy Shoes was recognized in 2008 for their original and inventive designs. The line was awarded the 2008 Plus Award for Design Excellence in Men's Streetwear by the prestigious trade magazine, Footwear Plus. The award was voted on by footwear retailers, designers and industry executives nationwide.
