Company Summary

PASS began at Prattville High School in 1988 after the death of one of its seniors, Michael Nobles. Michael was killed by a drunk driver. Students at the school wanted to memorialize Michael so they developed the program and named it PASS, Peers Are Staying Straight, the NOBLE Idea, Inc.



In 1996, PASS was accepted as a project of the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce and became a county wide program. PASS works under the umbrellas of a youth and adult coalition made up of community leaders, citizens and youth. This body of volunteers, along with the PASS staff and Board of Directors work to combat substance abuse in Autauga County children and youth, as well as adults. Since 1996, PASS and its partners have achieved remarkable results in reducing risk and protective factors associated with substance abuse and in reducing substance abuse among youth.



In 2002, it was recognized as Community Anti-Drug Coalition of the Year by Community Anti Drug Coalitions of American or CADCA. This award was based on the successful outcomes associated with reducing substance abuse. It is important to note that all of the successes recognized are directly related to the strong collaborative efforts with community partners.
