Pacer Steel, Inc. is the premier reinforcing steel and post-tension cable installation Subcontractor in the Northwest steel placing industry. Since the company's inception in January 2005, Pacer Steel has become the go-to installer for many General Contractors who recognize the quality and commitment to each project we are involved with. Pacer Steel has successfully completed many projects of all sizes and is currently working on multiple projects in various regions of Washington state and Alaska. The company is focused on providing General Contractors the highest level of quality and performance in the field and in project management.
The development phase of Pacer Steel began in March 2005 as a medium-sized steel placing business with six projects already contracted to begin work in March and April 05. The company quickly landed large-scale contracts for installation and supply/installation with local General Contractors, helping to build the brand name and establish our company's reputation. By 2009 our list of successfully completed projects include several high-rise buildings such as The Four Seasons Olympic Hotel in Seattle, 8th and Madison, 2201/ The ENSO, The Vue Apartments, many different low-rise and mid-rise mixed-use projects such as 523 Broadway, The Joule Apartments, The Bristol, Chelsea Heights and more. Our list of successfully completed projects also The Iris/ Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, DIS/Wheeler Data Center in Olympia, The Downtown Transportation Center in Juneau, AK, The Group Health Eastside in Bellevue, several large post-tensioned parking structures in Washington and Alaska, heavy civil work such as the NE 36th St. Bridge in Redmond and Smokey Point I-5 Overpass in Arlington, residential projects, many public works projects, city water tanks and reservoirs, piers, steam plant and oil-plant work, tilt-up construction and more. Pacer Steel has the most qualified, experienced, skilled, and most efficient employees available in the Puget Sound area.
The company's founding and corporate officers, Paul Reising, President, and Richard Ross, Treasurer and Field Superintendent, were previously employed by Pacific Erectors for 16 years prior to founding Pacer Steel. Paul is responsible for the General Management of the company, including estimating, project management, procuring of reinforcing steel and post-tension cables, contracts and company sales. As a former a Project Superintendent, his skills in managing people and working with many varieties of General Contractors and suppliers have earned Paul a solid reputation in the steel placing industry. Secretary/ Treasurer and Field Superintendent, Rick Ross, controls the daily field operations, manpower needs, Contractor relations and procuring of materials to ensure that each project is successfully completed throughout the entire phase. His experience in Contractor relations and his diverse ability to overcome problems of any kind have helped Rick to earn an excellent reputation in the industry. Both Officers are dedicated to a common vision, to provide premium services to all Contractors on every project we are involved with.
With the combined knowledge and experience of the corporation's owners, and the experience and foresight of the Project Superintendents, Pacer Steel has become a very competitive force in the steel placing industry. Commitment to high quality, efficiency and safe working practices will make Pacer Steel the leader in the area. Pacer Steel's Controller, Ray Macky, has decades of experience in GAAP and was employed by Pacific Erectors, Inc for 18 years. His experience and skills assist Pacer Steel in efficiently operating. Kim Waxman, Office Manager, keeps the Pacer Steel engine running smooth with her knowledge and experience in payroll and all human resources. Craig Carlson, the company's Safety Consultant, has completed OSHA training 500, 501, 510 and 311 Fall Arrest Systems, is a Competent Person for Excavation, Certified Rigging Gear Inspector, and Certified Forklift Instructor as well as an OSHA 10 & 30-hour authorized outreach trainer. Craig's expertise helps provide Pacer Steel and their Ironworkers a complete service in their Accident Prevention Programs, including Site Specific Fall Protection Work Plans, training and documentation to assure compliance with the applicable OSHA, DOSH Safety and Health Codes. Each of the members in management has worked together for nearly two decades and all excel at their positions.
