We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2018 - A 50 year tradition of delivering quality work set forth by our founders, Vern and Barb Sessler. Beginning in 1958 with only a small pink backhoe, Sessler Wrecking, a family owned business started with the intent of providing quality work with integrity and honesty.
Under the leadership of Vern and Barb, Sessler Wrecking began demolishing garages and houses and then progressing to the demolition of commercial and industrial buildings. In the late 1960s, Sessler performed several urban renewal demolition projects throughout Central New York.
Keeping pace with the ever changing regulations of the demolition industry and continuing to provide the highest quality of personal service, L.M. Sessler Excavating & Wrecking is a regional company focusing on the needs and demands of the Northeastern United States.
In 1977 Craig Sessler was the first of the second generation to join the family business with Vern Sessler Jr., then Jane Sessler Shaffer joining the family business in the early 80's.The wrecking business continued to expand and was proud to have such clients as Corning Glass, Kodak, Bristol Myers, NYSEG, Goulds Pumps (now ITT Industries), P&C, Wegman's, Dresser Rand Company and several other major companies. During the late 80s, the company continued to grow with the purchase of one of the largest excavator mounted shears in the Northeast.
Over the years Sessler has demolished in excess of 2500 buildings, and over 400 bridges throughout the Northeast. Sessler has a reputation of taking on technically challenging projects while meeting the needs of their clients in the face of ever-changing codes and regulations. The company continues to grow with the addition of a third generation of Sesslers, Daniel, Brian, Jeffrey, joining the business. In the ever changing demolition industry, Sessler Wrecking still operates on the solid principals that were set forth by Vern and Barb Sessler half a century ago.
