International Maritime Security Network was created with the premise that security on the high seas is second only to safety.

Founded in 2007, IMSN was established by maritime security specialists Captain Timothy D. Nease, and Captain Ralph Pundt. Based on a law enforcement background, Captain Nease was one of the first Lloyds-certified Maritime Security Instructors. Captain Nease brings his strategic and tactical operational leadership background to the team. Having served as Captain aboard US-flagged tankers, Captain Pundt retired after over twenty years professional sea service and is currently an associate professor at Maine Maritime Academy. Together they blend the skills and needs of security within the complexity of the maritime industry.

With several U.S. offices, IMSN operates domestically and internationally with partners in Panama, Belize, Canada, Vietnam, Nigeria, Kenya, France and throughout the Mediterranean region. IMSN is a recognized Security Organization (RSO) in Panama and Belize.

IMSN has strategic alliances with maritime education and training providers, industry and government advisory groups, as well as regional agencies. These alliances ensure that the seafarer is provided with quality training and representation, and that the security needs of the maritime transportation industry do not go unnoticed.

IMSN intelligence personnel study and analyze changes in criminal and pirate activities, and stay current with security updates from multiple resources.

IMSN has been a pioneer in security training initiatives, to include multiple U.S. Coast Guard-certified maritime security courses, as well as having the first DNV-certified Anti-Piracy course in an eLearning and blended format.
