The Health Education and Promotion Council (HEAPC) was established by four visionary women as a means of identifying and eliminating health disparities. HEAPC is committed to providing excellence in health education for allied health professionals working within a variety disciplines. In addition, HEAPC is committed to planning, implementing, and evaluating public health initiatives that increases the publics knowledge of specific disease conditions, disease risk factors, and appropriate methods of disease prevention and management. HEAPC is committed to connecting both the health professional and the public with the latest scientific research and best practice model. HEAPC was initially founded in Florida in 2007, and recently opened a second office in Rapid City, South Dakota. HEAPCs Rapid City office focuses on improving the health status of American Indians welcomes partnerships among tribal and urban health systems, state health departments, federal agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOS), and universities.
