Timothy Haynes and Kevin Roberts are the founding partners of Haynes-Roberts, Inc., a New York based interior design firm. Timothy Haynes, a registered architect, obtained his Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University. He subsequently worked for Robert A. M. Stern Architects before starting his own firm. He also holds two undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, one in Design of the Environment, the other in Art History. Kevin Roberts holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and advanced degrees in Cultural Anthropology. He subsequently worked for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in Geneva, Switzerland.
Haynes-Roberts, Inc. focuses on high-end residential projects for clients in the United States and abroad. Their approach to design is one of careful editing, connoisseurship, and comfort. The resulting work is a modern distillation of classic design that is spare, elegant, and inviting. A combination of in-depth study and extensive travel has given the team a profound knowledge of antique furniture and the history of architecture. In addition, their personal passion for contemporary art is key. Their projects attain a level of sophistication that develops from the juxtaposition of a well-edited contemporary art and furniture collection with an eclectic combination of 18th century through mid 20th century antiques.
Recent projects include a 30,000 square foot house on the ocean in Southampton, an 8,000 square foot apartment on Fifth Avenue, a 6,000 square foot Montana ski chalet in the Yellowstone Club, a 30,000 square foot weekend retreat on the Navesink River, the renovation and decoration of a Georgian manor house in Dublin, the decoration of a London townhouse in Kensington, a 6,000 square foot gut renovation and decoration of a Park Avenue duplex for a young family, the interior architecture and decoration of an 9,000 square foot Beach House on Cape Cod, and the renovation and the decoration of a 8,000 square foot Regency house in Palm Beach.
