This is the ultimate in re-cycling. Older homes in once prosperous neighborhoods are being restored to provide quality family living for a further century. FW Marks selects single family homes with solid foundations and strong walls. Each home is re-roofed and fitted with new double pane windows and doors, mostly in wood to preserve the integrity of the home. The interior of the home is stripped out entirely of all the old plaster, plumbing and electric. Interior space is modified to allow for larger bathrooms, but great care is taken to preserve the principle rooms and their original features. The home is then re-plumbed, rewired and HVAC installed before the whole house is insulated and dry-walled. Typically the first floor rooms are finished with hardwood flooring, with carpet on the second and third floors.

The completed home has the benefits of low running costs, spacious room proportions, large yards and proximity to parks, shopping and restaurants in the central West End.

The City has granted the area historic preservation status and offers substantial property tax benefits to new residents.
