Children's Specialized Hospital is the largest pediatric healthcare rehabilitation system in the United States. It is the preeminent provider of rehabilitation for children with special needs. The hospital serves children affected by brain injury, spinal cord dysfunction and injury, premature birth, autism, developmental delays, and life-changing illnesses. Children's Specialized has eight sites in New Jersey and treats over 16, 000 children each year.



The PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital ? New Brunswick treats children affected by traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and premature birth, as well as other life-changing illnesses and injuries.



Designed with input from staff, physicians, nurses, and therapists, and families, the 60-bed, 125, 000 square foot facility is a vibrant, spacious, colorful space brimming with the hope of a healthier, fuller life for our patients. The child and family friendly building has state-of-the-art therapy rooms including a pool, large gym, outdoor therapy garden, full kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, playrooms, dining spaces and game rooms. As a Patient and Family-Centered Care facility, Children's understands the importance of the role of the family in the recovery of the child. To help with this, patient rooms have sleeping accommodations for one parent and each patient floor has a family lounge and laundry facilities for the parents use. Additional family members may stay at the Ronald McDonald House located one block from the hospital. Families also receive a 20% discount in the Rainbow Café and their on-site parking is paid for by the hospital. With these amenities families can spend as much time as they wish with their children and participate fully in their care.
