Armijo Farm is a grower and processor of certified organic green and red chili specialty products. In addition on a much smaller scale we also grow raspberries, blackberries, mixed vegetables, alfalfa and herbs. Our products are positioned at the high end of the specialty foods market in terms of both quality and price. Armijo Farm has been in business producing other farm grown products since 1981, but in the past year was certified organic by the New Mexico Organic Commodity Commission and changed direction for five reasons:
The first is the exciting potential specialty food market in the U.S. The second is the local market demand for fresh and specialty processed chili products. The third is the growing trend of U.S. consumers demanding certified organic and locally grown products. The fourth is to become more competitive. The fifth is to expand our sales beyond the local market via e-commerce sales.
Armijo Farm has several objectives to achieve within the next three years. The first is to increase sales by at least $50,000 per year-by-year five. The second is to reach gross profit margins above 60%. The third is to expand a customer base of at least 10 different outlets.
